ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PROGRAM
Cortney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-S) and a State of Maryland Board of Counselors approved supervisor. She earned her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Cortney has experience working with children and adolescents in various therapeutic settings with a specialty in school-based therapy. The unique and flexible structure of school-based therapy allows Cortney to provide one-on-one counseling services, hold peer groups, and work closely with school staff to best support her clients. Her passion lies within the ability to become an advocate and confidante for the children and adolescents in her community, and open doors to empowered choices that lead to a balance of mind, body and spirit. Within her counseling practice, Cortney integrates mindfulness, expressive and creative arts, and play therapy into sessions. She is inspired every day in her work helping young people build hope, develop resiliency, and identify their goals for the future.
